Stella Soleil

Stella is a visionary, a singer, songwriter, performer, and artist developer, that is able to form really strong artists collectives, to achieve amazing and beautiful creative content.

Stella Soleil, a Chicago native, started Sister Soleil after singing backup vocals on the Ministry release “Filth Pig“, the Chem Lab track “Vera Blue”, several tracks for Die Warzau, 16 Volt, and many other industrial bands. In 1995 Stella met and partnered with Howie Beno of Ministry to create the Sister Soleil project, which resulted in an EP called “Drown Me in You” which caused a feeding frenzy in the music industry, and Stella signed with Universal Records soon after in 1997. Universal Records wanted the second release to be a pop album so Stella came up with the stage name Stella Soleil, and in 2001 the pop album “Dirty Little Secret” came out. The albums first single went to #7 on the top 40 chart, and everything was looking up! Soon after, the tragedy of 9/11 happened, and the entire music industry shut down which included Stella Soleil.

Stella’s music can be heard in the cinema world as well, with tracks like “Bozamba” being placed in the Morgan Freeman, and Ashley Judd film “Kiss The Girls“, as well as being featured on the Underworld Awakening soundtrack with the song “A Killer and a Queen“. Her song “Stand Up” was used for the Reba McIntyre show, and the song “I Like This Boy in Baggy Jeans” was even converted to french, performed by a french pop artist. Her song “Pretty Young Thing” was covered in Australia, and in China, in which a Chinese pop start converted it to mandarin, where it hit #1 in the karaoke charts. She had another #1 hit in the Russian Federation with a song “Дельфин – Глаза” written and performed with the artist Dolphin. Then there’s the amazing remix she recorded with Trent Reznor, of his song “A Warm Place“.

In 2005 Stella returned to Universal Records, but this time as A&R. Stella had brought some big bands to the label, and it was nice getting back into the scene, however she really missed being an artist, and that feeling must have manifested music right back into her life, becoming evident when a surprise phone call in 2007 from her friend Shawn Crahan, came in and requested she be the front for a band called Dirty Little Rabbits, in which she immediately packed up and moved to Des Moines Iowa to be a part of. The Dirty Little Rabbits tracks were brought to life with Stella’s powerful lyrics and vocals, so the band began to tour, grabbing audiences by surprise with their unique sound.

This brings us right upto the doorstep of the track “HELLO“. One day sitting around her unfurnished house with a couple of the Rabbits members, Mike Pfaff, Tyler Fury, and herself wrote the beginning of what would become a very catchy pop song, now known as “HELLO”. It was so catchy that it landed the Rabbits a record deal with The End Records/Sony, however, the band was aiming for more of a hard rock vibe, and it was too different to use as a first single, so the pop song was buried on the record.

For over 14 years Stella could not get this song out of her head, so she decided to re-work and re-record it, which would require some real musical muscle to produce. This is where Timothy Donohue ( legal/management) comes in, Tim jumped on the phone and built a dream team of amazing musicians to help bring this to life. With the musicians in place, it was now time to get the perfect producer to get the sound this song needed, only one name was on her mind, and that name was John Fryer, so she sent him the demo, after hearing it he was in! The last person on the list wan an engineer, Stella was then introduced to the amazing Joseph Davis Castleberry, who tracked and engineered the song, including over 40 hours of vocals, just to give John Fryer the best foundation to produce from. Now with John’s final touch, it’s almost an entirely new song, catchier than ever, and it is being released at the end of May 2025.
